New In-Home Parenting Assessment and Skills Development Service for Barwon families

By

Tweddle is thrilled to announce a new In-home program for families living in Barwon. From February, Tweddle’s strengths-based Parenting Assessment and Skills Development Service (PASDS) will be adding an In-Home service for parents of children between 0 and 3 years who have Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) involvement.

The new Barwon PASDS team will be led by Registered Nurse Fiona Kay. Fiona has decades of experience working with vulnerable infants and their families at Tweddle, the Royal Children’s Hospital, Western Private, Epworth Geelong and across other clinical settings.

The Barwon In-Home PASDS team will enhance attachment between parents and their children, improve their knowledge of child development while strengthening parenting skills and confidence.

The PASD team work with families over a three-month period across a number of goals. These goals include building life skills (cooking, outings, budgeting, time management, forward planning, goal setting) and bonding and attachment (getting to know your child through play, observing and responding to cues).

Tweddle is grateful to the DFFH for the opportunity to work closely with Barwon families.
