Parents with babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children can now access shorter wait times at Tweddle’s newly enhanced and upgraded Footscray and Wyndham Early Parenting Centres (EPCs), including both Residential and Day Stay programs.

Tweddle has been supporting families for generations, helping them build confidence in areas such as sleep, settling, attachment, bonding, behaviour, feeding, and mealtimes during the often-challenging early months and years of parenting.

Shorter wait times for parents needing support with their babies, toddlers and young children

A recent expansion into Wyndham underscored Tweddle’s commitment to supporting families throughout Melbourne’s west. The new Wyndham EPC, located near Werribee Mercy Hospital, joins Tweddle’s flagship Footscray EPC, which has undergone a major redevelopment. As a result of this expansion, wait times have significantly decreased, with referrals now being processed in less than two weeks on average.

For families, health professionals and referrers in Melbourne’s west, this means quicker support for parents with babies and toddlers, and a faster referral process, ensuring quicker, more comprehensive support for families navigating the challenges of early parenting.

Tweddle’s Executive Director of Nursing, Kirsty Evans, highlighted that at the core of Tweddle’s approach is a multidisciplinary clinical team. This includes nurses, psychologists, social workers, and specialists in family violence and early parenting, all working together to support families in need.

“For families, this expansion offers tailored early parenting support closer to home, without the stress of long waiting periods. Research shows that timely assistance for parents leads to better outcomes for infants, toddlers, and the family as a whole.” she said.
