We were delighted to welcome Premier Jacinta Allan, Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn, Minister for Children, and Katie Hall, Member for Footscray, along with our Board members and guests, to the official opening of Tweddle’s upgraded Footscray Early Parenting Centre (EPC) on Monday 31st March 2025.

Board Chair Annette Vickery, who had the honour of unveiling the plaque alongside Premier Allan and Minister Blandthorn, holds a historic role as the first Aboriginal community member to Chair an Early Parenting Centre.

Ms. Vickery reflected on the upgrade as a remarkable milestone, highlighting Tweddle’s century-long legacy of supporting babies, toddlers, and their families during the critical early years.

Two families shared their Tweddle journey, and 1939 Tweddle baby Jim Hevey reminded us of our history in Footscray, and Melbourne’s west.

This Early Parenting investment ensures that Tweddle’s commitment to nurturing children and strengthening families will continue for generations to come.

We are grateful to the government, whose dedication to early childhood development through this investment reflects its vision for building resilient children, families, and communities.
