Tweddle to Deliver new Early Parenting Centre for Wyndham
After 100 years in Footscray, state-wide Early Parenting organisation Tweddle is delighted to announce a new Early Parenting Centre (EPC) for Wyndham, in addition to its Footscray site, with thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
The new development, launched by the Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas MP, Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly MP, and Kaushaliya Vaghela Member for Western Metropolitan, forms part of the Government’s $123 million Early Parenting Centres Expansion and Upgrade project.
Sarah Connolly said that with 110 babies born a week in Wyndham alone, it’s great news that Wyndham will now have its own EPC, to be built down the road from the Werribee Mercy Hospital at 239-245 Princes Highway, Werribee.

Tweddle CEO Ms Jacquie O’Brien said that Melbourne’s west is one of Australia’s quickest growing regions. “Families in the Wyndham municipality are booming. “The parents of over 5000 babies born every year will be relieved to know that reliable and caring sleep and settling support is not far from home for parents in the City of Wyndham”
With building expected to commence in early 2022, the new EPC will provide day-stays and longer residential stay programs to improve the health, wellbeing and developmental outcomes for children aged up to four-years-old. Each new centre will include 10 residential units and four day stay units.
Ms O’Brien also expressed her thanks to Victoria’s Minister for Health, Martin Foley. “Minister Foley is aware of the importance of early intervention and the first 1000 days to the lifelong health outcomes of babies and toddlers.” she said. “These new Early Parenting Centres, and the expansion of Tweddle in Footscray will help provide more infants and families with a positive and resilient start in life.”
Sleep and settling is one of the biggest challenges facing new parents and this can lead to post-natal depression, isolation, and stress for parents, and impact a child’s behavioural, mental and physical development.
Early parenting centres deliver flexible, targeted services to help parents with sleep and settling issues. Ms O Brien said that the whole Tweddle team were excited about the prospect of helping more families thrive and the opportunity to increase our footprint across Melbourne’s west.
