Student Placements Shaping Future Workforces at Tweddle

Tweddle partners with various universities to provide student placements. Universities include RMIT, La Trobe, ACU, Monash and Deakin.

Student qualifications include Maternal & Child Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Paramedicine, Art Therapy and Psychology.

Students have worked on a range of projects which provide family friendly information for residential parents, carers and children. Projects have covered community facilities, seasonal and sensory play, baby food and nutrition, family violence and staff identification projects.

Genevieve Dannock, a RMIT University Maternal & Child Health Nursing student, recently completed her placement at Tweddle’s Geelong and Footscray residential programs. She expressed appreciation of her time at Tweddle.

“I just wanted to convey my sincere gratitude to the staff I had the pleasure of meeting and learning from during my Tweddle placements” she said.

“I have learnt so much. My course knowledge has been consolidated and I am in awe of the work that the Early Parenting Practitioners and Team Leaders do with the clients (parents, babies and toddlers).” she said.

Tweddle see our student placements as vital in highlighting to future workforces the diversity of Early Parenting Centres. We also share insights into the integrated nature of Maternal and Child Health, Community Services, Family Violence and Early Parenting sectors.
