Social Work Service

A Social Work Service is available to families participating in Tweddle programs. The service is an innovative new service that commenced at Tweddle in August 2006 in response to research conducted by the Key Centre for Women's Health. The service aims to provide support to adults experiencing domestic violence, substance abuse and/or financial difficulties.

This service offers assessment, counseling, intervention and referral out to existing community support services whilst the family is staying at Tweddle. All adults attending the residential service are offered consultation with a social worker if the adults in the family or staff identify at risk concerns.

Specific requests for the Social Work Service for those not at risk are considered on a case to case basis. Tweddle currently does not take referrals from other agencies.
