I was recently reminded of the importance of Tweddle's work in the community when at our 90th birthday celebration we were joined by the Reed family representing three generations of Tweddle ‘graduates'.

Warren Reed, who has recently attended Tweddle with his daughter Patika, came to Tweddle with his mother in the 1970's. Warren said that his family's life had been transformed following participation in the Tweddle program, much like his mother's had been forty years ago.

Every year Tweddle assist over 4,000 Victorian families but we'd like to be doing more. We continue to refine our services to meet the changing needs of the community.

Examples of this include Tweddle's Day stay program for Vietnamese families living in the city of Brimbank, and our new Perinatal mental health program offering therapeutic and support services to women diagnosed with mental health problems.

The recent baby boom, increased migration, indigenous families, isolation, lack of support networks and mental health are all challenges which Tweddle will face when developing and adapting services for parents of young children over the next 90 years and beyond.
