Pre-Intake Information

Welcome to Tweddle

Your stay with us will provide an opportunity for you and your family to explore any issues you are currently facing. Parenting issues involve the whole family and we invite you, your partner or support person to attend.

The program is designed to assist you to achieve your goals. The program has 4 phases:

  • Exploration
  • Confidence building
  • Skill consolidation
  • Preparation for home

We recognise that each family is unique. We respond to your individual needs working with you to achieve your goals and we will be on hand day and night. Please make sure to arrive on time so that we can start work together and gain maximum benefit from your stay.

In a typical day, we will work with you to develop confidence in your skills. This will be achieved by observing you and your child and providing you with feedback and encouragement. Information groups are run everyday and you are invited to attend them.

You will have your own bedrooms - one for parents and one for the child, unless otherwise requested. The child's room will have a cot or bed depending on age and your request. Your room also has a security box to store valuables.

Health
It is important that all family members are well enough to participate in the program. Please notify us if you or your family are not well. Your booking will then be rescheduled.

We know that some parents choose not to immunise their children. If there is an outbreak of an infectious disease we will ask the family to leave the program.

Bottles and Brushes
Every year over 1,000 families stay with us, that's a lot of bottles! In keeping with changes in Tweddle's Infection Control Policy, we need to make some changes to ensure the highest infection control standards are maintained to keep you and your baby well during your stay with us.

Tweddle families are now required to bring their own feeding equipment and bottle cleaning equipment (bottles, teats, bottle brush) for use in the communal formula/milk room.  We also ask that families no longer leave boiled water in the fridge and instead boil the kettle immediately prior to each formula preparation. This will help us reduce the risk of infections in stored boiled water.  Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for our families.

Allergies
If you or your child have an allergy to food or other substances, please tell us. If you have an allergy management plan, bring it with you.

Tweddle is a 'nut aware' environment. So, for child safety no peanut or nut products please.
