Tweddle supporting families in Mental Health Week

Posted by Kerrie Gottliebsen | 01/10/15

Mental Health Week, which will run from Sunday 4th to Saturday 10th October, is a great time to check in with a health professional if you feel you need a hand. Tweddle’s services exist to care for vulnerable mums, dads and their young children through difficult times.

The impact of stress on parenting can be hard to cope with but reaching out for help is important. Tweddle plays an important role in supporting parents to navigate the early years which can be especially vulnerable times.  Building the confidence, self esteem and resilience of families to be the best they can is a priority.

Mental Health Week aims to activate, educate and engage Victorians about mental health through a week of interactive events across the state including an official launch, community festivals, art exhibitions, music, theatre and seminars.  The Mental Health Foundation of Australia (Vic) features links to events taking place across Victoria listed on their website.

3 million Australians are living with depression or anxiety and help is available.  If you or someone you know would like to talk about mental health and support that is available, you can speak with a Tweddle Psychologist. We provide low cost counselling in Footscray and Williamstown. 24 hour support is available through Beyond Blue
